Tara T. Lineweaver

Tara Lineweaver is a Professor of Psychology at Butler University. Dr. Lineweaver is trained as a Clinical Psychologist with a specialty in neuropsychology (how the brain impacts cognitive abilities). Her research focuses on memory and visuospatial information processing in patients with neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and Epilepsy. She also studies attention, concentration and working memory in students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  In addition, she studies the factors that contribute to the opinions healthy individuals have about their memory and their other cognitive skills, as well as their beliefs about aging.  She directs the Neuroscience minor at Butler, and she typically teaches Biological Bases of Behavior, Advanced Applied Neuroscience, and several core curriculum interdisciplinary courses such as: Food: Pasture, Table, Body and Mind; the Neuromusic Experience; and Mental Illness: Biological, Psychological and Sociological Perspectives.  She is a Butler alumna, graduating with degrees in Arts Administration and Psychology in 1991.  She completed her training at Georgia Institute of Technology (Master's degree), University of San Diego, California (Ph.D.), University of Chicago Medical Center (internship) and the Cleveland Clinic (postdoctoral fellowship).  She loves teaching students at her alma mater and collaborating with them on research.
